coming soon

Today Universal released the trailer to Serenity, the motion picture form of Joss Whedon's (Buffy, Angel) canceled-too-soon TV series Firefly. I haven't seen much of Firefly, but I saw the pilot and liked it a lot. This trailer looks hot, and I'm anticipating the movie quite a bit. I'm trying to ignore them using Papyrus all over the site. Fucking PAPYRUS, man.

Also en route is the Russian horror flick Nightwatch, which looks to do some really nifty things visually. I can't find much info on the plot itself other than what the trailer tell us: Another secret war between the forces of light and dark. Nevertheless, they seem to make it look interesting. Also of note is that Nightwatch is the first in a pre-planned trilogy. The next two movies, not yet released (or finished, as far as I know) will be Daywatch and Duskwatch. Thanks to Tom for pointing this one out to me.

Rounding out the trailers is Tim Burton's Corpse Bride, a movie I didn't even hear of until yesterday. It's done in the same style as A Nightmare Before Christmas, which means I'm fucking there.

Also, why didn't anyone tell me The Shins rocked so much? How long have I been missing this? (Not to be confused with The Shivs, who I knew rocked while your grandpappy was still in diapers.)

I know my posts have been strange and news-y recently. I've got a week and a half until the semester's over. Can't wait. Then I can be human again!

Joss is awesome. I never took the time to watch Firefly but I'll probably pick up the DVD box set when I get a chance (that's after I finish the Angel box sets). Count me in for the movie too.

Nightwatch looks great and I'm just hoping the story is on par with the visualizations.
