rollin'

If I get my way, over the next month or two this blog you see here will cease to exist. While admittedly it hasn't done very much existing recently, it will soon be doing a whole lot less. The reason for this is fairly straightforward. I've recently been taking some serious, if small, steps forward in my return to the world of professional design. I've got a number of serious clients (hi, guys!) and hope to soon have more. I'll be graduating from Pratt this December (knock on wood) and from there on out I'll be on my own again. And, well, I want to be able to talk about my clients behind their backs.

Right now my professional web presence (www.tranq.com) and this more personal one are very closely intertwined. A Google search for one will quickly turn up the other. This has been all well and good while I was only working a little bit here and there, but now things are going to have to change. My clients don't need to know who I'm drinking with or my thoughts on the nature of god.

I'm not certain what's going to happen, exactly. The most concrete plans are to grab a new domain and restart a personal blog over there. I might then turn Notes into a more design-centric journal. Thing is, I haven't even had the gumption to write one blog recently, so I don't think I'll be taking up a second one. Maybe I'll just be lethargic and continue to write on Notes, saving the more personal gripes for — gasp — actual live conversation.

Nah.

As for me, I'm fine. The last week has been crazy. And good. Crazy good. And not just because I got to see Scott McClellen squirm like a newt under questioning.

edit: Jesus, those em dashes are huge.

Good luck, Jason! I'm glad to hear Tranq.com will evolve into more than just a very pretty, crawler-attracting placeholder!
