diversions

This was going to be a post about spending the weekend at home in Allentown. Oh, I was going to have a grand old time describing my escape from 7 days of nonstop NYC rain into sunny Pennsylvania. You were going to be regaled with tales of my dad showing me how to make the Worlds Most Unhealthy Chicken. There were to be vastly overblown details of hanging out with old friends in new houses. But no. Instead, this is going to be a short, grouchy post about me having to report to Jury Duty at 8:45 tomorrow.

Harrumph.

Well, at least I'll have a chance to check out what seems to be the nicest looking courts I've ever seen. Not that I've seen many. Ahem.

And may I say that the new courthouse was built in remarkably little time (in Brooklyn time, that is). I was living out there at the time and they managed to put up the steel in like 6mo, and in that same span of time, scafolding gathered moss on the neighboring MTA headquarters. I'm sure nothing's been done on that yet, it's on MTA time (13 trains, anyone).
